Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept Insurance?

Unfortunately, no. IMA does not except insurance. But you can always call your insurance company and find out if they do cover massage. If they do we are always happy to make sure you have everything you need to submit your costs to your insurance company.

What are your payment options?

I accept payment by cash, debit, credit card. A receipt is provided at the end of each treatment.

Do I have to take my clothes off?

Your comfort is my utmost priority. I've treated clients who are in the nude to fully clothed and everywhere in between. I will work with you to accommodate any needs you may have regarding draping and body positioning to ensure you always feel safe and secure.

Does massage hurt?

Your massage doesn't have to hurt to be effective. If you experience any pain or discomfort during our session, please tell me! I'm always happy to stop or modify your treatment to suit your needs.

Do you do deep tissue?

It's my controversial opinion that "deep tissue" is not a real modality. It's a marketing term some people use to upcharge. If you're asking whether I provide firm pressure, then yes, I'm able to meet most people's needs. If you're extremely muscular and you want the firmest pressure in the world, then I'll refer out to a better-suited therapist.

Should I tip?

I do not accept tips. The best way to show your appreciation is to recommend me to your friends.

I'm Sick should I keep my appointment?

If you get sick, please contact me to reschedule your appointment - especially if you are experiencing body aches or you suspect a fever. Your treatment will be safer and more enjoyable once you feel better. Please note there is a 24-hour cancellation policy in effect.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Cancel/change your appointment with at least 24 hours notice: no problem, no charge.

Cancel/change within 24 hours of your appointment for any reason: $54 cancellation fee, or 50% of the full session rate (whichever is greater.) You can avoid this by sending someone in your place! If we are able to fill the appointment: no charge.

Cancel/change your appointment within 2 hours: Full charge, unless we can rebook that slot.

No show, no notice: if you simply do not show up for any reason, with no notice, we will charge your card on file for the session.

Do I have to have a credit card on file to keep my appointment?

Yes, a credit card is required to hold your appointment. You may call me with the number before your appointment. If I do not receive the card number within 3 days after you make the appointment your appointment will be cancelled.

How often should I receive a massage

For those who use massage as preventative care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is common. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving massage for injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with your daily life. There are many people who incorporate massage therapy at least twice a month for optimal therapeutic relief. You and I will come up with an optimal treatment plan together.
